WABI-Bike Rack - Sponsorships Flying out the door

WABI Burien’s Bike Rack Sponsorship Sprint was launched at 9:00 a.m. this morning. By 2 seconds after 9:00, the first sponsor had e-mailed a pledge to sponsor two racks. By 9 seconds after 9:00, the second sponsor wrote in. And so it went. By 9:15, we had TWENTY bike racks sponsored out of the 41 available for this “phase 1″* bike rack installation project!

By quarter-to-three, the day’s last sponsor had written in, giving a tally of 35 bike racks sponsored for installation in the City of Burien. That means there are only 6 BIKE RACKS LEFT in this batch of 41 bike racks. This is not an opportunity to be missed… really, it’s not.

Reasons to sponsor a bike rack:

  • Show the community that you are supportive of cycling and other forms of getting around town.
  • Encourage folks to “shop local” and enable them to more feasibly hop on their bikes to get groceries and run errands.
  • Take advantage of great visibility for your business or organization at a low cost ($200) for a long time (5 whole years).
  • Bask in fantastic name recognition by being listed in connection with the project in subsequent stories and promotion.
  • Sleep well at night knowing that you did a good thing.

We’ll announce the bike rack sponsors once we get some of the details finalized with them (they know who they are and they can smile big tonight), but in the meantime, please give the sponsors a round of applause for stepping up to the plate and adding a bright spot for all of us here in Burien.

So, that leaves a race to the finish. Which sponsors will gobble up the remaining 6 bike racks? They’re going fast… you’d better jump in now. Read about sponsorship HERE, then send WABI an e-mail at info@wabiburien.org to commit to sponsoring a bike rack.

*(“Phase 1” you ask? WABI intends to install even more racks – Phase 2 – but we want to get through these first 41. Then we’ll catch our breath from sprinting so hard… and after that, move on to the next batch. And besides, we have plans for some pedestrian benefits, too.)
