The December Des Moines walk will be a special holiday walk and on a different day than normal, Saturday December 9th. We will meet at 11:00 am at Big Catch Plaza in Des Moines.
We will be exploring the town and marina, checking out the holiday decorations, seeing what great shops, restaurants, and bars we have in town, with options to shop and eat/drink if you want.
We will primarily be walking on Marine View Drive and 7th Avenue, but also walking around the south part of the marina by Anthony’s and Des Moines Drugs. Besides getting some exercise and meeting new people, one goal is to find out what great businesses there are in Des Moines.
Holiday Walk Update!
I have been able to obtain some discounts for our walking group from a few of the shops and businesses in Des Moines. Flora Laura, Castaway Treasures, Des Moines Drug, and Oceanside Banh Mi all will either offer discounts, sale items, or gift bags for our group, and I hope to add a couple more. Please join us and spread the word to help encourage local shopping and eating during the holiday season. You have the option of stopping at the businesses, so don’t feel like you have to shop, you can just participate in the walking portion if you wish. But this is a good way to find out what local businesses we have in town, and work on your Christmas shopping.
