Our friends at America Walks are planning to kick off a new webinar series on Thursday, Nov. 29 studying ways people can support walking programs at the state, tribal and local levels.

The first webinar, “Data and Resources to Propel Local Walking Programs and Solutions,” will examine the benefits of walking and provide an overview of ways to implement local walking programs. Scheduled presenters include Tom Schmid, Sr., an evaluation specialist for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Physical Activity and Health Branch; Laura MacNeil, a planner at the engineering firm Sam Schwartz Engineering; and Scott Bricker, executive director of America Walks.

Register here for the free webinar, which is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. Eastern on the 29th.

The webinar is part of America Walks’ new program “All Things Walking,” which also will include telephone discussion forums, online resources, community-based workshops and customized technical assistance to empower local communities to implement walking strategies.
