It doesn’t encourage people to ride their bikes into town to do their shopping and errands when there are few places to safely lock up their bikes when they get there! (It’s a good thing there are some small trees here and there.)

In order to foster cycling as a form of transportation, and to encourage people to bike simply for the exercise and enjoyment of it, we’ve got to support those efforts by providing abundant, secure and convenient bike racks.

Stay tuned…

There are bike racks at the north side of the Library and City Hall, as well as a couple in Town Square itself. But it would be convenient to have one near the south entrance to the building.

There is NOTHING to lock to at the Burien Post Office, except for this disabled parking sign.

Burien’s street furniture has been doing double-duty as bike racks. (I hope the front wheel wasn’t ripped off, but rather that the cyclist took it along to avoid such a theft.)

This rack at Ace Hardware has pallets of product blocking its access, AND it’s positioned at the dump point for a downspout from the roof!
