Roll into summer by exploring Burien biking opportunities with a guided group Bike SaFaRi (Safe Family Ride). Joining Burien Parks’ Great Day of Play on June 30, WABI Burien will first present a short refresher course on cycling safety. Cyclists, young and old, will then ride east to travel on some of the pathways along Des Moines Memorial Drive, Miller Creek and North SeaTac Park.

  • WHEN: June 30, 2018, gather at 1:30 PM
  • WHERE: Come find us at the WABI Burien stand at the Great Day of Play, at Moshier Field
  • WHO: Kids and Adults, ages 5 & up. Low-to-moderate biking ability. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
  • PRE-RIDE: Please arrive at 1:30 at the WABI Station for a pre-trip safety discussion and trip route summary.
  • ROUTE: 4.7 mile route is mostly level on bike paths and designated bike lanes. The ride will visit the new and old segments of the Des Moines Memorial Drive trail, the new Miller Creek trail and will cycle through North Seatac Park before returning to Moshier Park. Estimated round trip travel time 30 – 45 minutes. WABI cyclists will accompany the ride for guidance and assistance. Riders may choose to ride all or part of the designated route. (See map below.)
  • BRING:  Bicycle in good working order, bike lock, water bottle, helmet, snack. (These items are not provided by WABI.)
  • FACILITIES: Restrooms are available at Moshier Park and North Seatac Park.
  • WAIVER: Participants will be required to sign a waiver before joining the ride.
