DesMoines Crk trailCome join the WABI Weekday Walkers on the Des Moines Creek Trail, on the third Wednesday of the month, October 21, at 9 am. This is a beautiful walk through the woods from Des Moines Beach Park by Des Moines Marina. The trail from the water to the end is about 2 miles, all paved and with a mild slope. You can tackle the whole four-mile round trip or turn around sooner if you wish.

Date: Wednesday, October 21, 2015
Time: Meet 5-10 minutes early so we can leave promptly at 9:00 am.
Meeting Place: Meet at the footbridge over Des Moines Creek at the entrance to Des Moines Beach Park by the Des Moines Marina.
Directions:  From Burien, take 1st Ave. South (509) to Des Moines.  Turn right (west) at S. 223rd Street, then after a couple blocks, go down Dock Street just past the Des Moines Marina.   You’ll see some parking spaces and the footbridge.  (You may need to come back to the marina to park.)
Parking:  There is a small number of parking spaces by the footbridge.  Otherwise, the footbridge is a short walk from the Des Moines Marina where there is ample parking.
Fun facts: The trail’s north end is in the City of SeaTac and ends in City of Des Moines. The trail’s south end by the Des Moines Marina is the site of a National Historic landmark, recognized for its rustic buildings and history as Covenant Beach Bible Camp.
